There are few ID Card cutting tools available in market whose manufacturing cost is more than Rs.7,000/- in India. However, there are few Chinese products which are available for below Rs.5,000/- in India. Not sure about their quality though. The challenge here is to reduce the manufacturing cost without compromising on performance and quality of the product.

Jytra Engineering Services has initiated one R&D project on ID Card Cutter redesign and build. We have built one prototype at lower cost but the functionality is not satisfactory. The load requirement is more when compared to its existing competition. Keeping this in mind, we have made few changes to the design and is ready for new prototype build. We will build and test the new unit shortly so that it can be commercialized.
