In modern manufacturing, GD&T is playing crucial role apart from size tolerancing. Mere application of size tolerancing is almost obsolete in today's manufacturing. Geometry of the part to be produced is more important along with its size confirmation. GD&T is gaining more importance in almost all domains of manufacturing like automotive, aerospace, space, machine tools, home appliances etc. Keeping the growing global demands in mind, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has released the new version in 2009 (ASME Y14.5M - 2009 superseding the previous 1994 standard i.e., ASME Y14.5M-1994).
The design engineers at Jytra Engineering Services haves vast experience in Mechanical Engineering designs for various global customers. We apply GD&T for all the new products developed by us irrespective of their size and domain. We strongly believe that GD&T will ease the manufacturing, assembly and inspection compared to conventional size tolerancing. Only confusion in the industry is the insufficient awareness of GD&T. People think that GD&T will make the design and manufacturing more difficult which is a wrong perception.
In order to promote GD&T, we started offering in depth GD&T training to Mechanical Engineering Professionals. We conducted several corporate trainings also with leading companies like General Electric (GE).
The broad training contents of G&T training program are given below:
