PRODUCT LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT Workshop

The Institution of Engineers (India), Visakhapatnam Local Centre in association with Jytra Engineering Services, Hyderabad and Siemens PLM Software, India has conducted a Workshop on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) at Visvesvaraya Bhavan, Visakhapatnam. Mr.M.Murali Krishna, CEO, Jytra Engineering Services has explained about PLM concepts, latest trends, industry practices and available software technologies. He also explained about various PLM Software tools available on CAD, CAM, CAE, PDM, DM, DMU etc. Emphasis was given on Siemens Software, Velocity Series software (Solid Edge ST, Femap, CAM Express and Teamcenter Express) available for small and medium businesses. Siemens initiatives on GO PLM education grants, Siemens Trainings and Certifications were explained to the participants.
Mr.Prasanna Kumar, Regional Manager of Jytra Engineering Services has explained about the concepts of Lean Manufacturing, various techniques and industry practices with special focus on Japanese techniques.
Prof. I.Satyanarayana, Chairman, The Institution of Engineers (India), Visakhapatnam Local Centre has delivered the presidential addressed and explained the importance of implementing latest technologies and tools on PLM. There were nearly 120 Mechanical Engineers participated from various Organizations like Hindustan Shipyard, HPCL, Indian navy, Vizag Steel, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, NSTL, MMTC, Dredging Corporation of India, East Coast Railway, Local Universities and Engineering Colleges. |
