The component to be machined is a timing gear housing for one of the leading automotive manufacturers in India. Our client was the supplier of parts to the OEM. Project is started with product drawing and machining fixture was designed to suit the machines in production shop. The fixture was designed in such a way to keep the overall cost minimum, provide high accuracy, ease of maintenance, easy loading and unloading of parts. Chips will not lock inside the fixture during machining. The machining processes include face milling and fine boring. The fixture was manufactured at CTTC without any problem in manufacture and tryout.
